Like many other brothers I live in the atlanta area
now and work for a company that owns a couple local bars and Nightclub.
Technically i am the GM of the nightclub portion of the company so most of my
time is spent thier. However, I am always around the bar as well. I see a fair
majority of the brothers that live in Atlanta at our bar as it is a very popular
destination for that particular age group and people. I would love to organize
some football parties at one of our locations for local brothers. If you have
any insight as to what would be the best way to go about that let me know. I am
still single and enjoy my job greatly. It is fun to work in an enviroment where
the whole idea is to have a good time. At present we are in the process of
franchising our Bar concept and hope to have several new locations this year in
the atlanta area.

Man I have been in the field for two weeks. Just
now getting a chance to check the email. Germany is great. Miss all the guys,
but it will be fun when they visit. I have got to go to Austria to snowboard,
and Amsterdam. Amsterdam is just crazy. I travel a lot so be ready for some good
pics.
As for my time in the Fraternity I loved every minute of it. I traveled all over
the country and met friends for a lifetime. I pledged in Fall 98, and was in the
Chi pledge class. I was my pledge class president. Basically all I was good for
was planning social gatherings, and getting us in trouble. Some memorable stuff
from back in the day. One was winning the free throw contest for the university.
Shooting 30-30 stone cold wasted. Winning the IM championship for 5 on 5
basketball. Living in the house was awesome. Stealing the goal post padding
after the Kentucky vs. Georgia game is a memorable time. It was Hoffson's fault
I did that. I couldn't list all the great partys or socials. Though the 5 kegger
at Tuscany for the UF game still is the best.
I left school Spring 2000 to join the military. My current rank is SSgt. I am an
instructor at a Regional Training Center here in Sembach, Germany. The big city
next to us is Kaiserslautern. I teach security forces members integrated base
defense/combat tactics before getting deployed to the desert. The job is great,
and I love teaching. Something I really enjoy. I plan on staying in the military
for twenty years. I have got some great training as well. Raven school is
basically where they teach security forces to become Air Marshalls. Just a lot
of fighting and military specific training is incorporated. Since it started
only around 1300 have made it. I don't know yet if I am going to go officer or
stay enlisted. I love the espirt de corp of enlisted. Reminds me a lot of the
fraternity life. Once I get out I plan on becoming a high school teacher and get
back into coaching athletics. If I don't get the boys football or basketball
job, then the girls softball, swimming or volleyball will have to do. In my
spare time I coach youth basketball on base. I also still play a lot of
intramural sports. I have been on two base champion teams. One for flag
football, and last year in softball.
As for guys I keep in touch with the list is pretty long. Brian Osterhout, Jason
Leach, Brian White, Justin Brummit, Josh Reinholt, Joust, Bill Case, Terry
Fletchter, C. Edler, Jim Powderly, Brian Westrick, Chris Rodriquez, Tyler Ammons,
Brad Wakestein, Tyler Reeve, Michael (Hollywood) Hallo, Josh Unruh, Joey Del
Valle, and a bunch more. Which I am sure I left a few names off, sorry. A few of
the guys have gotten international phone plans. So that is a big plus to here
from them.
Over the last year a lot of the guys have made an effort to get together and
hang out. The first trip was Ft. Myers. I still don't know how we decided on
that. But it was a blast. I think in all around 13 brothers showed up, and a few
more close friends. The Miami game this year was another fun weekend. Connely
Edler got the room, and Myself, Wakestien, Osterhout, and Powderly stayed there.
I think in all I saw over forty brothers that weekend. That is where the picture
of us under the Sigma Pi sign came from. Clemson game was only a few brothers,
but an awesome time. Then the next big gathering was NYE in orlando. Where
around 20 brothers showed up.
As for upcoming events being planned. It is still tough for me to get home
anytime soon. Right now a few brothers are planning to come to Germany the first
of August 06. I am planning to come home Nov 4,06 for Josh Unruh's wedding. I
know bunch of guys are going to Vegas for his Bachelor party, but I wont be able
to attend. Not this year, but the following Sept. I am going to plan a big
Oktoberfest 07 trip. I am going to start putting the info out a year in advance
to get as many people as possible. More info will follow on that.
